Kevin David Mitnick (born August 6, 1963) is an American computer security consultant, author, and hacker, best known for his high-profile arrest and later conviction for various computer and communications-related crimes.

Biography

Mitnick gained unauthorized access to computer systems and networks, becoming one of the most wanted computer criminals in the United States. After being arrested in 1995, he served five years in prison, including eight months in solitary confinement.

Career

After his release from prison, Mitnick became a computer security consultant and author. He founded the security consulting firm Mitnick Security Consulting, LLC and has authored several books on cybersecurity.
